Incoloy 825 is an alloy. This material has characteristics such as high strength, high hardness, and wear resistance, and is mainly used for manufacturing various cutting tools and tools, such as turning tools, planers, milling cutters, etc; It is also suitable for making Machine element, such as gears and shaft sleeves.
Incoloy 825 is a nickel based high-temperature alloy steel with a carbon content of 0.8% to 1.2% and a nickel content of 8.5% to 11.5%.
Chemical composition of incoloy825 ° C: Ni: 8.0~11.0%; Cr: 95.0~103.0%; Mo: 1.0~1.5%; V: 0.15~0.20%.
Performance characteristics of incoloy825 ° C:
1. High strength and toughness:
It has good corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance below 800 ° C, and high strength and toughness above 800 ° C. Its tensile strength is above 900MPa; The Fatigue limit can reach more than 1000MPa; The impact toughness value can reach up to 600J/m2.
2. Good welding performance:
Due to its high chromium content and much lower melting point than ordinary stainless steel (approximately 1350 ° C), this steel has good weldability. When welding with electrodes of the same material, cracks can easily occur and affect the quality and service life. However, using welding wires with other components for reinforcement welding is less likely to crack or produce cracks.
3. Good wear resistance:
Compared with commonly used high-speed steel, the wear resistance of 825 is about 3-6 times higher, and its service life is extended by about 2-3 times. Therefore, it can be used to manufacture large machine tool spindles with high cutting speed and other components that require wear resistance. (For example, drill bits) can also be used for manufacturing grinding wheel blades and sandpaper core materials.
4. The heat treatment process is simple:
Due to its low thermal conductivity (only 0.17W/(m.K)) and uniform thermal conductivity (0.14W/(m.K) at 860 ° C). Therefore, the heat treatment process is simple and easy to control the uniform temperature distribution, which is conducive to improving product quality and production efficiency. In addition, 825 can also be used as heat-resistant steel.
5. Good processability:
Due to the small thermal expansion coefficient of 825 (approximately 0.009 × 10-6/K) and without the characteristics of temper brittleness, it can be processed into workpieces with high dimensional accuracy without deformation or fracture.
The outstanding attribute of Incoloy alloy 825 is its high level of corrosion resistance. In both reducing and oxidize environments, the alloy resists general corrosion, pitting, crevice corrosion, intergranular corrosion, and stress-corrosion cracking.
Some environments in which Incoloy alloy 825 is particularly useful are sulfuric acid, phosphoric acid, sulfurcontaining flue gases, sour gas and oil wells, and sea water.
