Grade 317L stainless steel coil offers excellent machinability because it has high hardness which in turn means that cutting tools do not get dulled easily by the material during machining operations.
It also offers good weldability because of its high tensile strength which allows for easy welding without losing any structural integrity.
This property makes it very useful when manufacturing tanks or pressure vessels that require welding as well as joining pipes together through brazing or soldering processes.
